# Connect Claude to Typenode

Connect Typenode from Claude's directory, then try it in a new chat.

The Typenode MCP connector lets Claude build, run and manage workflows in your workspace.
These steps work in Claude on the web and in the desktop app. For the terminal app, use
[Claude Code](/connect/claude-code).

You need a Typenode account and access to a workspace that isn't view-only. Your Claude organization
may require an owner to enable the connector first.

## Connect from Claude's directory

1. [Open Typenode in Claude's directory](https://claude.ai/directory/typenode).
2. Click **Connect to Claude**.
3. On the Typenode page that opens, sign in if asked. Confirm that you started the connection,
   review the workspace and agent name, then click **Allow**.

Claude acts as you in the workspace you approve, with no more access than you have.
[Agent access](/agents/access#the-consent-screen) explains the consent screen and access limits.

## Check the connection

Start a new chat in Claude and enable **Typenode** in the conversation's connectors menu. Ask:

```text
Use Typenode MCP now. Call start, then briefly tell me what Typenode can help me do and list the Typenode tools available to you. Do not make changes.
```

You should get an overview of what Typenode can help you do and the tools available to your agent.

## Add as a custom connector

This is an alternative to the directory setup. Both methods connect to the same Typenode tools;
you only need one.

1. [Open Claude with Typenode filled in](https://claude.ai/customize/connectors?modal=add-custom-connector&connectorName=Typenode&connectorUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fmcp.typenode.ai%2Fplugins%2Fclaude%2Fmcp).
2. Click **Add**, then **Connect** next to Typenode.
3. On the Typenode page, confirm that you started the connection, review the workspace and agent
   name, then click **Allow**.

To enter the details yourself, name the connector **Typenode** and use this server URL:

```text
https://mcp.typenode.ai/plugins/claude/mcp
```

Then [check the connection](#check-the-connection) in a new chat.

## Common problems

### Typenode is unavailable in your organization

Ask a Claude organization owner to allow the connector. Claude's
[connector instructions](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/11176164-use-connectors-to-extend-claude-s-capabilities)
explain organization controls.

### Claude doesn't use Typenode

Check that Typenode is connected and enabled for the conversation, then start a new chat and try
the test prompt again.

### Claude asks you to connect again

Follow [Reconnecting](/agents/access#reconnecting). If you have reached the limit of agents,
[disconnect one you no longer use](/agents/access#disconnecting), then connect again.
