# Connect Claude Code to Typenode

Add Typenode's MCP tools to Claude Code and approve access to your workspace.

Connect the Typenode MCP connector to Claude Code to build, run and manage workflows from your
terminal. For Claude on the web or in the desktop app, use [Claude](/connect/claude).

You need Claude Code installed, a Typenode account and access to a workspace that isn't view-only.

## Add the MCP connector

1. Run this in your terminal to add Typenode for all your projects and start sign-in:

   ```shell
   claude mcp add --transport http --scope user typenode https://mcp.typenode.ai/mcp; claude mcp login typenode
   ```

2. On the Typenode page that opens, sign in if asked. Confirm that you started the connection,
   review the workspace and agent name, then click **Allow**.

Claude Code acts as you in the workspace you approve, with no more access than you have.
[Agent access](/agents/access#the-consent-screen) explains what you approve.

## Check the connection

Start a new Claude Code session. Run `/mcp` to check that Typenode is connected, then ask:

```text
Use Typenode MCP now. Call start, then briefly tell me what Typenode can help me do and list the Typenode tools available to you. Do not make changes.
```

You should get an overview of what Typenode can help you do and the tools available to your agent.

## Common problems

### Typenode is already configured

The sign-in command still runs if Typenode is already configured. You can also run
`claude mcp login typenode` on its own to sign in again.

### The connector needs authentication

Run `claude mcp login typenode` and finish the Typenode approval in your browser.
[Reconnecting](/agents/access#reconnecting) explains how to reuse an existing agent.

### Typenode doesn't appear in the session

Start a new session and check `/mcp` again. See Claude Code's
[MCP documentation](https://code.claude.com/docs/en/mcp) for client configuration help.
